It’s finally over: as of a few hours ago, the toughest mountain bike marathon in the world has come to an end. The winner of the men’s category is the Colombian himself, Leon Paez, who won for the eighth time, and beat Samuele Porro and fellow Colombian Diego Arias Cuervo. Adelheid Morath won her second HERO, leaving Katazina Sosna and South Tyrolean Sandra Mairhofer eating her dust.

“Shark” Vincenzo Nibali was among the cyclists, finishing his first HERO tired but wearing a satisfied grin.
